Yes, you can replace halogen landscape lights with LED. All our LED lights can fit existing light fixtures. It should be an easy replacement. You can send or describe to us your existing landscape lights and we’ll help find the perfect LED lights for it.
Usually, main-powered LED bulbs will require a transformer. But since LED lights don’t have a huge voltage or wattage requirement, there’s no need for a large transformer. The transformer or drive can be built into the bulb casing or it can be located externally.
The lumens requirement of landscape lights will depend on how you plan to use them. For instance, path and step lights can only be 100 lumens. Floodlights require more brightness so it has to be 700 lumens. Underwater lights can have a range of 200 to 400 lumens while wall lights have a low range of 50 to 185 lumens. For general landscape lights, it should be 50 to 300 lumens.
When determining the lumens, make sure you consider the area that you want to illuminate. You should also take the spacing into consideration. If you plan to position the lights far from each other, the lumen might have to be bigger.
